Ok, so cleanup and refactoring is done. Now it's much better, I've also made it much simpler to introduce new abilities, perks, enemies, etc. into the game. Next step is art, I want it to look like in "The Mission"
Cleaning up my code right now, it's a complete mess since, well, it's a prototype and I wanted to get something working asap. After I'm done I think I'll start turning this into an actual game, will add proper graphics first.
Telegraphing: crab now slowly opens its claws, when they're fully open it'll charge again. Turtles wiggle before rotating, so the player knows if it's not too late to bite. Also faster killzone and other gameplay tweaks. #gamedev #indiedev #godotengine
I've decided to turn leukocytes (yellow pickups) into sort of ammo for the player, player can now shoot! So it has 3 tools out-of-the-box: dash / bite, shoot and tumbleweed supermove. Damn, it got so much fun now :) #gamedev #indiedev #godotengine
Working on supermoves. You collect platelets (blue pickups), when "platelets" bar is full the leech can perform a "supermove". This one is called "tumbleweed", there will be more available through upgrades in game. #gamedev #indiedev #godotengine

The Mission was basically a platformer, a dead genre,really hard to make an engaging gameplay. I want to make a fast-paced roguelike here with meta, core gameplay is actually pretty fun even in this shitty prototype. Need time to assemble all the pieces, will see if it's worth it
I'm thinking about scrapping "The Mission" and make a different game, where you're a leech trying getting out of some organism. Still using @godotengine and will use same aesthetics later. Just prototyping for now #gamedev #indiedev
