@MBTA, uh, I’m on the Red Line going inbound from Davis, and a few minutes ago, a bunch of water leaked out from the ceiling of my car. Glad I wasn’t sitting in that area.
@somershade1 I’m recently a Somerville resident again after a gap of five years and more recently fled to Mastodon. I like it except I’m missing some content, such as your meeting notes.
I recently found a silver lining to my awkwardness and anxiety around interviewing for jobs. I would never get through the interview process at a “hardcore” company, and that’s a feature, not a bug.
In case the end is nigh, my fav twitter moment was a highly improbable crossing of paths that reconnected me to a stranger I'd shared a Greyhound bus ride with almost 20 years prior...
that Japanese women are the best housewives. They are on top of all the household matters and get everything into shape. He seemed like a nice guy and like he was trying to give a compliment, but… I was standing there trying to send strong “let’s get out of here” brainwaves 2/3
Husband and I went to get a quote for selling the car and ended up talking with a salesperson who… seemed well-intentioned but left me feeling kind of gross. Towards the end, he asked if we were Japanese, and I said that I was third-gen, and he told us about how he’d heard 1/3
no greater joy than going to the pokemon center website and reading reviews for thr massive 3 ft long leek plushie (seems most people use it to bonk their loved ones in the head with it): pokemoncenter.com/product/701-06…
I walked in the first door I saw with a “VOTE” sign, tried to check in, and was directed to walk around to the other side of the building and go in that door. I checked in, got my ballot, filled it out, and fed it into the machine after someone verified where I got it from. 2/3
I voted! No lines at my location in late morning, so it was pretty easy *except* I didn’t realize two precincts were voting at the same location. Seems like not the best setup… 1/3
And yes, I’m including my first job in a 24-hr diner worked for minimum wage and usually no tips. But I got a free pie if I worked a double-shift or came in to cover someone who called in sick. 2/2
This is painful to watch, but as a fellow engineer, I’m taking a moment to appreciate every job I’ve ever had, because I feel like I was treated with more dignity than I would’ve been at any of his companies. 1/2
