The Holocaust is trivialised by those who use its horrors and painful memories to justify present crimes, not those who refer to it in order to learn from the awful Past and, while commemorating its victims, say No More. Never Again. Against anyone. In the face of 50,000 fellow humans killed by bombs, artillery, and sniper fire in 15 months (one third of whom are children), the harassment and vilification of people who stand against Israel's crimes is just unphatomable.

I hope there is an actual ceasefire in Gaza. But never forget that Biden could have ended this horror over a year ago, that the devastation could have been prevented, an entire generation of trauma avoided, but he chose to aid Israel’s slaughter at every turn. He chose genocide.

The monstrosity of our time. We know and pretend not to know. We give it other names, we make up excuses. Israel is erasing Palestinians from Palestine - starving, torturing to death, pulverising homes, schools, churches, trees, human bodies, burning them in tents - and we call is "self-defense". Israel's self-defense is the defense of ideological hatred turned political doctrine. And genocide.

Israel bans the importation into Gaza of anaesthetics. Hence, the scores of children who are amputated daily, following Israel's bombings, are put to the knife without anaesthesia - if they are lucky to be taken to a functioning medical facility and not be bombed when in it.

No group, including Jewish people, is entitled to an ethnostate. Ethnostates inherently privilege one group over others, requiring the displacement, oppression, and extermination of other peoples to sustain such a structure. Zionism, as an ethnonationalist ideology, underpins the establishment and maintenance of Israel as a Jewish ethnostate, often at the expense of Palestinians- whether they are Christian, Muslim, or Atheist. Critiquing Zionism is not equivalent to critiquing Jewish identity or Judaism; it is an examination of a political ideology that has led to the systemic dispossession, displacement, and ongoing genocide against the Palestinians. The forced removal of Palestinians from their homes and the denial of their rights—both in the past and present—reflect the practical consequences of prioritising one group’s national aspirations over the existence and sovereignty of another. Ethnonationalism, regardless of the group promoting it, deserves scrutiny, as it directly fuels hatred, exclusion, violence, and the erasure of marginalised communities. Zionism is ethnonationalism. Ethnonationalism is inherently violent and hateful.

Criticism of Israel is fine. Anti-Zionism is the negation of the only Jewish state. It says Jews are the only people that do not have a right to nationhood. Also anti-Zionism is often expressed as blood libels against the Jewish state, such as the genocide lie about Gaza.
