Mavic - left too soon, only 64 years young. She achieved however, more than most people. Such a genuine, generous and wise colleague. Worked both on the normativ development of 1325, and on method’s to accelerate the implementation both regionally, nationally and locally. She stood at the frontline. It was a true privilege to co- chair the compact on WPS-HA with Mavic from 2022-2025. The first board meeting took place in Pretoria. @MRensvik It’s a huge benefit to work together, representing different continents, different governments, regional organisations and civil society. Reporting and sharing best practices- Let’s keep that spirit and honor the memory of Mavic.
We are deeply saddened by Mavic's passing. She was a fierce trailblazer for women's rights and the WPS agenda. Committed to action & accountability, she contributed immeasurably to the formation of the Compact and represented GNWP for two years as founding Co-Chair of the Board.
