On June 28th, 2023 at 9:40 a.m. PDT amateur radio operator N6JZT was automatically live-spotted by the  @socalsimplexarchive  stream during the station's Summits on the Air activation of San Gabriel Peak, W6/CT-019. The Archive's recently-implemented artificial intelligence-powered transmission prediction system named CannedHam accurately predicted the strong SOTA signal as it was received into the San Pedro's live stream monitoring SDR. These automated and live station-spotting results mean SOTA and POTA activators without access to internet communications can be aided in their pursuits for contacts, in addition to giving stations the ability to do post-review of their logs and evaluate overall transmission quality of the activation. Stations that frequent the 2-meter simplex call frequency in the Southern-California area, and are heard by the Archive's monitoring station, will have their transmissions ID'd and trained into future prediction models for the CannedHam live-spotting system.
