Amusing close-up on Fitz as he's yelling "That's bullshit!" with his full chest. I love football coaches.

@jawwatts Thankfully, it's early. But I vote for no more Colorado regionals involving Denver. I would shit a brick if I was Fersch.

@AlwaysFlacko Except it did, and Tennessee Code Annotated § 37-1-134 is why.

@AlwaysFlacko If he was given LWOP, the two SCOTUS rulings since then would’ve given him a chance at parole anyway and/or get him a resentencing hearing. Dozens of juvenile lifers in my state are getting their sentences reduced because of state Supreme Court and SCOTUS rulings.

@theblaze Is it fair to taxpayers to spend $3 million on a single inmate?

@Brklyn1012 My guess is bad IV placement. The kicker is her saying it was 'burning.' I had constant IV drugs when I had back surgery over the summer but they had to run a new line ~24 hrs after surgery because one dose stung really bad. TN may have really screwed the pooch here.

@conlin_lauren My guess is the IV insertion was poor, especially if the reports of her saying it was 'burning' are accurate. I had to get IV drugs in the hospital in the summer after back surgery. One dose started to sting, so I told the nurse and he immediately stopped + ran a new line.

@suchagreatguy Tadaryl Shipp avoided a capital sentence because he was 17 at the time of the offense. The jury wasn't allowed to consider it. Capital sentences are unconstitutional for juvenile offenders as of 2005 (Roper v. Simmons).

@savbesleep The theory is that she may have a genetic mutation that is resistant to CNS depressants, which is what they've tried to execute her with.

@IGPAPER The buck stops with the U.S. Supreme Court. There's nothing else that can stop this from happening now unless the governor has a last-second change of mind.

@leolionesss The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a stay but that stay was vacated by the Supreme Court, 6-2. The death warrant expires at midnight so she has literally minutes left to live now.

@ashraf_bidaki The U.S. Supreme Court has vacated the Court of Appeals' stay of execution. Christa Pike has hours, maybe even minutes left to live.

@FeistyInFlorida You’re right. It should’ve been handled correctly the first time. This is why capital cases are a waste of time and money. My state locks people away and throws out the key. Murderers vanish into oblivion and obscurity much easier that way.
