This Slog commenter gets at the crux of its inadequacy--no context as to what these dangerous radicals were rebelling against.

The local art media is so decimated that we can't even enjoy good old fashioned feuds anymore. So it was in a way refreshing to see Charles Mudede call the Seattle Times' Gary Faigin stupid wrt his review of "Victorian Radicals" at SAM.

And in the space, the convention center-feel of which the organizers have made no effort to overcome. Confiscating our water on a hot day so we would have to buy six dollar bottles of water to maintain basic hydration--that was also a nice touch.

Rick Araluce's "The Night Theater” at Roq la Rue is cool as shit. As if Edward Gorey made hyper-realistic dioramas, located in some dreamlike timeframe, recently vacated by unseen victims. (All photos from the website, mine all looked like crap.)

This looks rad. And this corner of First Hill is quietly magical, full of low-slung understated medical buildings from the 50s and 60s.

“I want more people to embrace local culture. I want people to open up galleries and museums in alternative spaces...I think that maybe [Museum of Museums] is a way of setting an example of how art could be appreciated and consumed in a different way.” capitolhillseattle.com/2019/06/a-new-…

If you don't think this is worth $50,000, it's because you are not as smart as all these institutions. The Whitney, you think you know more than them about art? Pathetic rube.

I've always thought of James Harris Gallery as the pretentious little brother of Greg Kucera Gallery. Maybe unfair generally, but spot on this month. All the expense and prestige of Kucera with none of the showmanship or fun.
