It's my 23th birthday today, and as usual I made a little something: me and my trio original main characters that I love way too much!

Hopefully I can make something soon that uses my own assets and has a nicer artstyle as well! In the meantime, if you're interested in watching the full 3 minutes of this test here you go: youtube.com/watch?v=swvaas…

Made a level concept for my Environment Design assignment for college, the assets are obviously not mine but the level design was. I've never really dove into level design before so this was quite fun to think about!

Also here's the sketch of Hasty; an enemy that not really attacks, but has set up a race course for the player to recieve a key or some other collectible!

While not really that much progress has been made apart from now having a new camera system with smoother movement, I am working on a college assignment where I have to design an environment with a puzzle! I'll be using this as a sort of style test for the world of Smelton!

While I'm working on a "Game Projects I've worked on 2021 - 2022" compilation video, I wanted to at least include one of the NPC characters in the footage, so here is Andy the ice cream sandwich

Playing around a bit with particle effects! While it's still in progress, it makes picking up the sprinkles really satisfying :)

They also have an attack animation for when contact has been made with the player :)

Been jugling a few too many things at the moment so the project is on a bit of a standstill at the moment, so have the (for now) unused Flick walking animation since I'm having difficulties with understanding how pathfinding works

Made a small spin jump for when Smelton jumps on the local trampoline cat

I'd like to introduce my two new flying friends: Mike and Jambo! While Jambo is just an ordinary enemy in the air, Mike serves more like a trampoline (he's also invincible)

As an example, this is what it originally did with multiple enemies in the scene

While it still needs some improvements, the enemy health system kinda works now :)

Smelton is now able to damage and kill the enemy, it does not work quite as well when you try to spawn more of them at once yet tho.....

It has also been tried to add the option to play as different colored versions of Smelton, but that does not work as well as I had hoped (it gets a bit crusty)
