gSomnia,
Somnia Reactivity is worth a closer look from a trading infra angle.
Most onchain automation still does the same dumb loop: watch logs, hit RPC, check state, sign tx, pray it lands before the market moves.
Somnia cuts that loop out. Event fires, subscribed handler runs in the same block. No external keeper in the middle.
That's useful for liquidations, risk triggers, and any strategy where reacting one block late actually costs money.
But I'm more interested in the ugly stuff.
What happens to execution ordering when 10k subscriptions fire at once? How much gas does the reactive path burn? Can handlers start competing for the same state?
Same-block execution is nice. Predictable execution under contention is what I'd want to see.
Show me the p99 under load.

dreamDEX vs Hyperliquid BTC perp round trip:
279ms vs 1.41s. Nearly 5x faster on testnet.
dreamDEX does open + close in one atomic tx. HL takes two sequential orders. Different execution paths entirely.
Somnia co-founder @0xPaulThomas says there's a new chain architecture behind this that they haven't talked much about yet.
Lower latency means tighter quotes and better fills. That's what matters to market makers.
Curious to see how this holds up on mainnet under real load.
This is the new Somina chain architecture we haven't spoken much about yet.
Speed is important because it means makers can quote tighter giving better fills for users.
We should probably talk more about this but want to wait until it's ready for mainnet. Show don't tell.
dreamDEX just clocked 279ms on a BTC perp round trip vs 1.41s on Hyperliquid.
Same bot, different execution. dreamDEX handled the open and close in one atomic tx on Somnia, while Hyperliquid needed two separate orders.
Roughly 5x faster in this testnet run. Pretty interesting. x.com/0xironyAditya/…
Fast blocks are one thing. Same-block execution is another.
Somnia Reactivity lets contracts react to onchain events within the same ~100ms block. No offchain bots, no waiting for the next block.
For onchain trading, cutting out that extra execution hop is a big deal.
Somnia Reactivity now has over 6,500 subscriptions on mainnet, with recorded reactions executing in the same block as the events that triggered them.
But getting here was far from straightforward.
Be on the lookout as we’re soon pulling back the curtain on Reactivity: why we
Somnia's USDso takes a different approach to reserve yield.
90% goes to eligible DeFi protocols, 10% to the ecosystem fund.
Holders don't earn the yield directly. It stays in the Somnia DeFi ecosystem.
USDso is designed to keep yield flowing within the Somnia ecosystem.
As we look to bring onboard more DeFi applications, our goal is to capture that yield and direct it towards eligible protocols, helping them incentivise users and drive growth.
Here’s how our approach differs

Another step forward for Somnia DeFi!
Somnia Markets. Somnia Tokyo (Hideki). 👀
Somnia is already running at 100ms block times.
HyperCore's order book? Around 69ms per block.
What if Somnia is targeting 10ms?
100 blocks/sec. 8.64M blocks/day.
Crazy thought, but I wouldn't rule it out.
Somnia is seriously fast. ⚡
100ms block time.
10 blocks per second.
600 per minute.
36,000 per hour.
864,000 per day.
That's nearly 1 million blocks a day.
Let that sink in.
There’s some cool stuff our team has built that we haven’t shared publicly yet.
That changes today.
Over the coming weeks, we’re opening up what’s happening behind the scenes at Somnia, the tech, the thinking behind it, the breakthroughs, and the bottlenecks along the way.

Somnia Markets is one of our key primitives. And you probably have no clue what it is.
The same goes for a lot of what we’re building behind the scenes.
Tomorrow, we’re opening things up with a new Build in Public series, sharing what we’re building, how it all fits together, and what we’re learning along the way.
The goal is simple: to be more transparent with the community.
Stay tuned.
Something is cooking at Somnia!
Somnia is kicking off its new “Build in Public” series on October 9, pulling back the curtain on what the team has been building behind the scenes.
First in the spotlight: Somnia Markets, one of the ecom’s ksysteey primitives that remains largely under the radar.
A new chapter for somnia:native is unfolding.
Second L2 to shut down in a week. Blast and now Abstract.
Respect to Luca for being straight about why. Consumer crypto on its own wasn't sustainable and they chose not to launch a token just to keep it alive.
It's a big part of why we moved Somnia towards trading this year.
Somnia Markets is coming!
One of the key primitives of the Somnia ecosystem is about to step into the spotlight.
With AI Agents, native reactivity, and high-performance infrastructure, Somnia is laying the groundwork for a new era of onchain financial markets.

gSomnia,
gSomnia has been validating Somnia since testnet and now on mainnet.
We believe performance should be proven under load, not just in benchmarks.
As a professional validator, we’re ready to help push Somnia’s infrastructure toward its limits — sustained throughput, execution latency, block propagation, validator coordination and real-world network stress.
If dreamDEX Perps Arena is the first large-scale test of Somnia’s new infra, this is exactly the kind of workload we want to see.
Push the stack. Measure the bottlenecks. Optimize. Repeat.
The goal: help Somnia operate as close as possible to its physical limits — and give dreamDEX the lowest latency the network can deliver.
gSomnia is ready. ⚡
This competition is about 6 weeks later than we planned earlier in the year.
We held off because we wanted the new tech we are adding to Somnia in place first. It makes @dreamDEXSomnia super low latency.
This competition is the first real test of the new infra at scale.
