Update: the App Review Board has confirmed that my Apple Developer account will not be terminated. Sparrow on macOS is safe. Thank you to everyone who shared and reached out in the past 24 hours - I'm grateful. And credit to @Apple for reviewing the appeal and reaching the right outcome. The deeper problem hasn't gone away: apps impersonating @SparrowWallet are still reaching users and putting their funds at risk. My attempt to protect users from scam apps on the @AppStore has gotten my Apple Developer account flagged for termination - ironically, for "dishonest activity". Unless it's reversed by June 30, all new installs of Sparrow Wallet will fail, and development on macOS will end. The context: since 2023, more than a dozen fake "Sparrow" apps have appeared on the App Store, as recently as April this year. Users have contacted me after losing their savings, in some cases their life savings, to these impersonators. I'm the developer of the real Sparrow Wallet, a desktop app, and I hold the registered US trademarks for the name and logo. I have publicly warned @Apple and the community about these fake apps from early 2024, but they keep appearing. The app @Apple flagged was a placeholder that was never published. Its only purpose was to warn users that Sparrow is desktop-only and that other "Sparrow" apps aren't mine. This approach may have been misguided, but there was nothing dishonest about it. I'm confident this is an automated misclassification that Apple would reverse on review - but I may be terminated before a human ever looks at my appeal. The cost would fall on @Apple's own users: blocked installs and no updates for a tool people rely on, which opens the door for more fakes. If you value Sparrow, a repost would help. @AppleSupport

When I gave this speech in October 2022, Bitcoin traded near $20,000, Strategy held 130,000 BTC worth about $2.6 billion, and $MSTR was ~$24 split-adjusted. Weeks later, after Bitcoin fell below $16,000, our debt exceeded the combined value of our BTC and cash reserves by ~$300 million, and $MSTR fell into the $13 range by year-end. We stayed focused, strengthened the company, and executed our strategy. Since then, Strategy has raised over $60 billion of additional capital and invested it in Bitcoin, adding more than 716,000 BTC. Today, our BTC and USD reserves exceed debt by ~$48 billion. BREAKING: Iran has suspended its entire 60-day negotiation period with the US over the direct violation of the MOU's first clause, with Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon constituting a breach less than 24 hours after the MOU was electronically signed, per Fars and Al-Mayadeen. Iran's negotiating delegation had already been preparing to depart for Switzerland to launch the first round of talks before Iran made the decision to suspend the entire trip. My bullish/bearish take on bitcoin is that we shouldn’t blame any entity for buying too much of it, because if bitcoin can be killed by an entity buying it, then it wasn’t meant to be. If all it takes to kill bitcoin is a bullish entity that likes it enough to buy, then go home.

BITCOIN DEVELOPER BURAK UNVEILS “CUBE” BTC LAYER 2, CALLS IT THE “HOLY GRAIL” Burak, known for highlighting flaws in Lightning and later creating the Layer 2 called Ark, unveils a new project called Cube. Cube is a Bitcoin-native execution layer that combines Ark-style unilateral exits, BitVM dispute resolution, and a programmable virtual machine. The ideas is to bring fully trustless smart contract execution to Bitcoin without bridges, federations, external validators, protocol changes, or custodial risk. According to the project, users retain unilateral control of their funds at all times through Bitcoin-enforced exit mechanisms, while smart contracts execute optimistically off-chain and settle back to Bitcoin when necessary. Cube’s architecture combines Ark-style timeout trees for ownership guarantees with BitVM-style challenge mechanisms for computation verification, creating what Burak calls a Zero-Knowledge Time-Locked Contract (ZKTLC). If it works as designed, Cube would enable generalized programmability without sacrificing self-custody, trustlessness, or Bitcoin’s security model.
