SpaceX 's post-IPO surge sent perpetual futures volume on $SPCX soaring last week—the first time any stock (anything other than gold or WTI oil, in fact) has led RWA perps volume. $9.8B of the SpaceX perps trading volume came last Tuesday, June 16, well above the IPO day activity ($9.2B) as the stock enjoyed a post-pop runup, before falling back to earth. Commodity perps are now far less than half the market in perpetual futures on real-world assets, as equity perps volume takes over.
