Are we the only ones who have noticed that catalyst-trading has suddenly become extraordinarly difficult over the past month? Once upon a time, stocks would move predictably on an inflection catalyst same-day, usually starting within minutes. As of late, we see things like this: * no reaction to news and then sudden explosions many many hours later in the late afternoon * if it does explode on day one, the move is fully reversed on day two * sometimes the stock will inexplicably crash on day one of great news but explode out of no where days later. To be clear, things like this have always happened but a minority of the time... but as of late, it seems to happen every single time. What exactly is going on out there?

No Morning Show today on X, but here are our thoughts on today's macro. 🧠👇 $MU's earnings were so strong they may have exposed the next risk to the AI trade. Higher memory prices are forcing companies like $AAPL and $MSFT to raise prices, shifting the market's focus from AI demand to AI inflation. Meanwhile, oil is climbing after fresh tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, just as $QQQ heads toward a critical test of its 50-day moving average. If that level fails, positioning could unwind quickly into the weekend. We've returned to a Red Alert and believe capital preservation is the priority. For active traders, we'd rather sell volatility or short market pops than aggressively chase longs.

$MSTR continues to look vulnerable. As long as $BTC remains below $60K, the path of least resistance appears lower. A reclaim of $60K by the close would be the first sign that momentum may be shifting back in favor of the bulls. Until then, caution remains warranted.

Oil is once again becoming one of the market's biggest variables. Before the 2026 U.S.-Iran conflict began, $USO was trading around $80-$82. It then surged to a peak of $154.08 on 5/18 before pulling back to $105.65 on 6/24. Today, $USO is back above $108, up over 2%. For weeks, falling oil prices helped ease inflation concerns and supported the broader market rally. If geopolitical tensions escalate and oil resumes its climb, that narrative could quickly reverse. Oil remains one of the primary inputs to the global economy. Watch it closely.

Dude if they let a subsidiary go bankrupt it’s actually bullish for the stock and the stock may rise so not sure about your thesis of buybacks at a lower level. I didn’t even think they could let the subsidiary go bankrupt if they have the cash but I just did the research and surprise, they can! If there is a negative news reaction it would only last a few hours as everyone can do the math and realize this would improve NAV even further. This new information makes me even more bullish.
