You are free to come check out the walkway for yourself by walking along the public access Princess street path through the school site.
Many families avoid this walkway because it is so congested and choose to walk through an active parking lot instead. This is not safe and we have developed an easy solution that loses a couple parking spots and moves our dumpsters.

Students at an East Vancouver school have started a campaign to change the name of their school from Lord Strathcona Elementary to Barbara Howard Elementary. As @CBCLarsen reports, the students feel the former teacher at the school deserves the recognition.
