Please retweet, it serves as donations too. There’s this sick brother in dire need of help. Doctors believe he has liver and kidney complications, though tests are still underway and a full diagnosis is not yet confirmed. His condition is already severe. He has no food and no money for his medication. Because of his illness he could no longer work. He and his wife were evicted not long after and now sleep in a shop with no windows. The only way he was allowed to stay there was by agreeing to work as a night security guard for the plaza. He had no other choice. His situation is critical. I hope, as always, that we can come together and help take this brother out of his present misery.

Walking out of the masjid today, my father held my hand for support. It took me back to my brother and I as little boys, fighting over that same hand, especially the one with the wristwatch. We used to fight over who got to hold it. Today, I hold it to help my father walk. And one of us is no longer here to do it. And all I could think about was the empty space where my brother should have been. Life has a cruel way of turning childhood memories into things you’d give anything to live through just one more time. May Allah have mercy on my brother. And may Allah give my father many more years with us.
