Most people think being “woke” is a social movement. It's not. It's a political strategy. And once you understand its intellectual roots, many of today's cultural battles make a lot more sense. The term originated in Black American culture as a call to stay alert to racial injustice, but un recent years it has been transformed into something much broader and more ambitious. Modern woke ideology draws primarily from Critical Theory, Critical Race Theory and postmodern identity politics. It views Western society not as a system of individual rights and voluntary cooperation, but as a structure of interlocking oppressions based on race, gender and other identity categories. At its core, woke ideology replaces the liberal principle of equality before the law with the demand for equity - engineered equality of outcomes. It treats disparities in results as automatic proof of systemic discrimination rather than the product of individual choices, culture or natural variation. Language, history and institutions are reframed as tools of power that must be constantly policed and reconstructed. As a political strategy, woke ideology represents the practical application of Antonio Gramsci’s concept of cultural hegemony. Instead of seizing the means of production through revolution, it seeks to capture the institutions that shape culture - universities, media, corporations, schools and the administrative state. By controlling language, moral norms and professional incentives, it aims to make its worldview the new common sense while marginalising dissent. So, woke is not a movement for greater freedom or justice. It is a sophisticated form of power politics that uses moral language to justify institutional capture, speech restrictions and the subordination of individual rights to group-based claims of oppression.

2. We need to stop using the term "capitalism" like its a fully defined philosophy to defend. Defend the more specific and detailed schools of thought. Defend specifically free market policies.

1. Marxism is a specific economic philosophy. Keynesian economics is a philosophy, Austrian economics is a philosophy. The Chicago school is a school of thought. Capitalism is an extremely broad term, that doesn't actually get into specifics.

@Inu_Loki I do agree with you the factory shifts were horrible BUT people way overly romanticize the time before that. I blame specific painters who painted romanticized peasants at the turn of the century. Notably William-Adolphe Bouguereau, Jules Breton, and Jean-François Millet.

The free market relies heavily on whistle blowers to work. Uncovering crimes against humanity within a buisness and working to expose or stop them IS very free market of you. Dishonesty should make some one so risky to do buisness with that they don't get buisness.

Most of our arguments are economic, informational, or institutional. And these are only some of the arguments from a libertarian/classical-liberal perspective. Neolibs, conservatives, Keynesians—hell, even socialists—have their own arguments against communism.
