@RebekahODell1 The trick is to combine all those forms into one coherent response/addition to the discourse. So knowing how to make those moves is great! Believing they are RIGHT or THE RULE or that they work alone in practice is harmful.

@RebekahODell1 I love posts like this. I teach freshman college composition (I.e. how to write for and with the professionals and experts you’ll be engaging with). I spend much of my time convincing students that NO writing is as black and white as they’ve been told it is.

@heymrsbond My daughter told me and my husband (both teachers) she wants to be a teacher. Our response: what else are you interested in? No way can I send her to college to get a degree for a job where the expectations are you know how to do 14 jobs and get paid to do one.

#Ukraine In Kharkiv, a chimpanzee escaped from a zoo. It was walking around the city while zoo employees tried to convince it to return. Suddenly it started to rain, and the ape ran to a zoo employee for a jacket and then agreed to return to the zoo.
