I must admit: three weeks ago I said MSTR's preferred stock dividends were a credit event checklist, not a price call. BUT this week the checklist item just got checked. Strategy sold 3,588 BTC between June 29 and July 5. > Tranche 1: 1,363 BTC for $80.8M (June 29-30) > Tranche 2: 2,225 BTC for $135.2M (July 1-5) > Total raised: ~$216M > Stated reason: fund dividends on its Digital Credit preferred stock This is the company that built its entire identity on "never sell." 843,775 BTC remain. Still the largest corporate treasury on earth. But the mechanism just proved itself real. When preferred dividends come due, BTC gets sold to pay them. Not a hypothetical anymore. A line item. As an actuary, I don't call this bearish or bullish. I call it the conditional cliff resolving into an actual event. Would you still call MSTR a pure BTC proxy after this week?
