It was so lovely to do my internship with Big Change and to reflect on my positive experiences in secondary education (apt seeing as it was just GCSE results day today) and on the care system in this video. The internship was a brilliant experience - thank you Big Change! 💙

during A-levels results days, my teacher brought me aside and told me that my grades were good but she knew that I must have gotten an A in Psychology. She said I could consider re-marks for the exam papers. However, I knew that I couldn’t afford it nor….
OK here's a rant about A level re-marks. My son had a below prediction score, so (because I was able to) I paid the £150 per paper re-mark charge. He went up by TEN marks and a whole grade. The fact that this option is only open to those that can afford it is totally unfair.
Today I was nearly knocked over by a 6ft 2 year 11 as he ran to hug me after he saw his English grade. This is how I measure my value as a teacher, and human.
