taking the blame for everything is the fastest way to kill your confidence as a founder. and its exactly what the current leadership model trains you to do. when the team wins you give the credit away, when the team loses you take the blame on yourself. outwardly thats right, you protect your people and you take the hit in public. but nobody tells you what it does to you on the inside. if you keep taking all of the blame on yourself, beyond a point it stops being a leadership principle and just becomes your internal narrative. and slowly that belief that “i can do anything in life”, the delusional confidence a founder actually runs on, starts leaking out of you. your risk appetite drops, you start second guessing decisions before you even make them. this is why you need to be a little careful with the failure porn which social media influenercs keep feeding you. above anything else is your unwavering belief you can do anything. i call it unleadership. its not an actual term but i want to make it one. because everything they teach you about leading like take all the responsibiliy for everything take all the blames etc is good but if you do too much of it and allow this to be your internal narrative then you will lose yourself. do whatever you want to do but do not lose yourself its what brought you here. and ill be honest, i havent figured out how to actually do this yet. my own wiring is the reverse, i take everything onto myself, i suffer through most of it. so im not writing this as someone whos solved it, im writing it as someone who is also figuring out how to minimise the suffering while playing in the supermode
