I stopped by the public library today and learned that they allow patrons to check out light boxes for sadness during the fall/winter months in Ohio. More and more I am convinced that public libraries (and those who work there) are some of the best of us.

If you have friends that are single, have their back. Invite them places, host small gatherings, introduce them to people… Their only way to meet someone cannot be on apps. C‘mon

This is kind of random but public libraries are so important to me. I could go even far as to say it changed my young adult life. Library was a place to get away from unhappy home, get lost for hours in all the books, graphic novels, magazines, cd’s, etc. The summer reading
did it hurt? when you realised you'll never be able to read your favourite book for the first time again?

what's clear to me when writing about friendship is that a lot of people are very lonely. a lot of people are craving genuine friendship but are unable to have it, and it's not their fault. it's a culture that devalues community, promotes individualism, and shuns vulnerability.
