Even using a conservative estimate of $4 per lawn sign and stake: 80,000 signs × $4 = $320,000 Then add fuel for nearly 40,000 km of travel, vehicle repairs, hotels, events and other operating expenses. The organization has also publicly stated that it has more than 18,000 registered volunteers, and made statements emphasizing that the campaign's promotional items are driven heavily by grassroots volunteer efforts. That raises a straightforward transparency question: Who paid for all of this, and which expenses or donated goods and services are required to appear in the organization's financial disclosures? The numbers should be reconciled with actual invoices, donations, in-kind contributions and the applicable Elections Alberta reporting periods. Transparency should apply equally to everyone.
