Feel the same. Overall this isn't a bad idea & England should be fine in most games esp KOs when teams are more expansive. Plan A should work. But makes you think why he was so against taking some options for a plan B when more creativity is required. Let's see how far they go.

Bayern (Kompany), Ajax (Michel), RBL (Demichelis) have all picked up relegated managers by judging scalability to control games. Much better than our logic of hiring ETH & Amorim coz they were winners in weaker leagues. Rather get those who have shown control in tougher leagues.

@MUFCLinus I think recruitment is a common bane across all managers. But keeping that aside, ETH and Amorim were tactically off it for very spedific reasons that worked in their league but weren't going to PL. Things which were predicted before they came.

Top 4 again with improved gameplay & underlying metrics & go fairly deep (QF UCL, semis others) in cups. IMO we overperformed with him, esp with 1 game a week. Getting similar results in full season with better control is good enough. 27/28 should be the title aiming one.

@MUFCLinus LVG was declining. I don't think Jose Ole failed tbh. They came 2nd & team building let them down. They didn't struggle tactically much. Rangnick hadn't managed in a decade & was a bad hire. Agree on players & recruitment generally speaking.
@Manish_C22 SAF & Jose were way too long ago. I'm only talking about tactical climate in recent years. And yes I think Slot has the same issue of weak rest defence and direct build up that worked in Eredivisie but doesn't here. As he built to his vision you could see the issues.
