$XRP RUMOR CHECK It’s 2am but fuck it. There are enough $XRP headlines moving tonight that a few of them need cleaning up. Evernorth is the biggest one. The SEC declared its Form S-4 effective on August 27. That moves the proposed deal with Armada forward. Shareholders vote September 30, and if the deal closes, the combined company is expected to trade on Nasdaq under XRPN. That’s real progress. It doesn’t mean XRPN is trading now, the merger is finished, or the SEC “approved $XRP.” Then there’s XLS-38 XChainBridge. RippleX recommended withdrawing it. The amendment was never enabled, the EVM sidechain already uses Axelar, and maintaining the old design means carrying more than 10,000 lines of code nobody really needs. Ripple can’t just delete it either. They get one validator vote and the amendment process still has to play out. BlackRock is getting used for two opposite stories again. One says BlackRock “left $XRP behind.” Another says BlackRock or its CEO is buying $XRP through the Ondo connection. Neither checks out. BlackRock still hasn’t filed for a spot $XRP ETF. That’s the actual fact. The recycled “$XRP will bury SWIFT” and Finastra 11,000-bank claims are making another lap too. Ripple Payments is real. Jeonbuk Bank’s deployment is real. That doesn’t mean 11,000 SWIFT banks suddenly use $XRP. Ripple Prime also launched Delta One on August 27 for total return swaps tied to U.S. listed stocks, indexes and digital assets. That’s a real expansion of Ripple’s prime brokerage business. Ripple didn’t say those trades settle in $XRP or run on XRPL. RLUSD is around the $2 billion circulating mark, split between XRPL and Ethereum. That’s real too, but RLUSD supply isn’t the same thing as buying $XRP. We also finally have the 5 billion XRPL transaction number showing up in XRPSCAN-cited data. That appears to check out. Just remember that’s more than 5 billion lifetime transactions since 2012, not some one-day explosion. The same goes for the “500,000 is the new reality” and “payment volume jumped 521%” headlines. Those are dashboard snapshots from specific comparison windows, not permanent new network baselines. xrpld 3.3.0 is still in the voting stage too. The software shipped August 6, but none of the new amendments are in the 14-day activation countdown yet. The real story tonight is actually better than the bullshit version. Evernorth moved forward, Ripple Prime expanded, XRPL crossed 5 billion lifetime transactions, and the amendment process is still doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.
