there is disappointingly little regional or international attention on this mass grave of Tamil civilians killed by the Sri Lankan military in ~1996 after it recaptured Jaffna from the LTTE in December 1995. the timeframe of this massacre and mass grave overlaps with US JCET advisors & trainers helping Sri Lanka in 1995-98. the mass grave was only discovered because the Sinhalese gang rape & murder of a Tamil girl drew rare international attention in 1998. one of the Sinhalese rapists revealed the same location had been used to "disappear" 400+ other Tamil civilians killed (and raped) by the Sri Lankan military throughout 1996. but mass grave excavations only started last year.
