@jackappleby @jk_rowling Perhaps because being strong, capable, or caring aren’t inherently gendered. A woman firefighter is a woman. A male caretaker is a guy. That isn’t trans, it’s just being a well-rounded person.

Idaho's house just passed HB 675. It passed by a vote of 55-13. It would make providing gender affirming care to trans teens a felony with a life sentence.. Worse... it makes leaving the state with your trans teen to move elsewhere and provide them with care a felony as well.

Trans kids and their families are in increasing danger. If Texans need a place to stay safe, Austin and Travis County are an option. I am so very sorry that you are being targeted like this. It’s horrific.

JUST IN: Tomorrow, local leaders will declare Austin and Travis County to be a safe and inclusive place for transgender families. This is in response to Gov. Abbott's directive to treat gender-affirming medical care as child abuse.

I am disappointed but not surprised. I’d like to boost this signal. When people are victimized by a community, it’s everyone’s job to address it. As a cis in a queer friendly bubble, I don’t see it. Doesn’t mean it’s not there. I would love to know more about how this manifests.

Absolutely. Compersion (joy felt at seeing another’s joy - the opposite of jealousy) is beautiful, but it isn’t a necessity. Sometimes things are hard, or our feelings are mixed. It’s okay to be where you are. We can be joyfully polyamorous and still struggle. #polyamory

Grief has no timeline. You’re NOT disordered if you’re still grieving a loss you (or other people) think you “should be over by now.” Loss is painful. Grief is a neurobiological response. Let yourself grieve (WITH support of a professional if needed) without the shame.

Relationship Anarchy is not freedom from responsibility. Instead, it's the radical notion that we are responsible to everyone we care about, not just romantic partners. That we have the freedom to customize the commitment of responsibility as fits with this we care about.

Transitions - even ones we deeply desire - can be really challenging. Mourning what was can be a healthy and necessary part of embracing what is. This is complicated stuff. Conflicting feelings are natural.

Transitioning from monogamy to multigamy: It's natural to grieve for the relationship you thought you wanted and no longer have, while at the same time celebrating a new relationship you create. Don't underestimate the care and attention that grieving for this loss, requires.
