Hip-Hop was birthed from the black soul and Jazz records from the 60s and 70s (Black Music) - there is a direct connection to the black American records being played during the "creation" of Hip-Hop, those break beats were all James Brown records... that he was technically already rapping over. Gil Scott Heron etc... c'mon stop it. Everyone can be apart of hip-hop but stop minimizing the FACT that it is Black Music!
