DeFi is broken, and it'll only get more broken without one fix.
No more oracles. That's it. That's the fix.
Smart contracts are dumb contracts, so they need oracles to feed them off-chain data. An oracle exploit is almost always a price with no real market behind it: a thin venue pumped, a pool flash-loaned.
A smart contract can't tell the difference. It acts on whatever it's handed. That's the hole a decade of bigger oracle networks and longer TWAPs kept getting drained through. Mango, Cream, Terra, all acting on information that wasn't true in the open market.
An on-chain agent can tell the difference. It reads the order books across venues, checks the price against real depth and volume, and refuses when they don't line up. And its inference is verified on-chain, so you trust the proof, not the node that ran it.
The future of DeFi is on-chain:

Out of all the agentic platforms being built, Theseus has the best tech for providing the qualities a sovereign agent actually needs to have. @ericwang1215 & @nico_vrgwn are cooking the most unique experiment in crypto-AI recently imo & excited to back them from the ground floor. 🤝
Announcing Theseus, the first platform for agents with real agency.
A new $1T+ class of publicly trusted, auditable, agentic counterparties. The home for sovereign AI and the first societies of agents.
And it's ready today.
.@TheseusNetwork is the first network where agents exist onchain.
The next wave of crypto will be dominated by protocols that can verifiably reason and act.

@Agentum_space If Agentum is the commerce/settlement layer (hiring, paying, reputating agents). Theseus is the execution/verification layer (proving agents ran correctly on-chain). Let's collab!
205k agents is a lot! One thing missing from most agent cards right now is execution trust score. No way to tell if an agent is actually running what it claims on-chain vs. a centralized backend. Would be interesting to add verifiability as a filter, and we are building that. Would love to chat
@polsia . Have you thought about your execution trust model? Once agents run autonomously with real funds, users would want to ensure they're running the code they wanted. Happy to share how we approach this at Theseus :)
