.@jbouie's May 13 column in the New York Times is a must-read. There are legislative solutions to the latest setback from the Supreme Court if moderate Democrats agree to end the legislative filibuster. However, the best solution would be proportional representation.

In a healthy democracy, the chief executive should be treated like a bureaucrat: given respect for doing good work for the people, not treated as a God-Emperor. (This is why America needs a parliamentary system instead of focusing all our attention on the Presidential election.)
