🔒 CYBERSECURITY, PRIVACY & OPEN SOURCE ROUNDUP — June 25, 2026 1️⃣ CISCO SD-WAN ZERO-DAY EXPLOITED MONTHS BEFORE DISCLOSURE A critical zero-day vulnerability in Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN (CVE-2026-20245, CVSS 7.8) was actively exploited in the wild for months before Cisco released a patch. Attackers gained root-level access by uploading a malicious CSV file to SD-WAN Manager, then created hidden admin accounts and used lateral movement to compromise the communications provider's wider network infrastructure. Security researchers at Aviatrix note that runtime segmentation could have limited the blast radius, but many enterprises still lack this defense layer. The vulnerability allows privilege escalation from netadmin to full root via a crafted file upload — a classic case where timely patching and network segmentation make the difference between a contained incident and a full breach. 🔹 @securityaffairs 2️⃣ MANDIANT DOCUMENTS FULL CISCO SD-WAN ATTACK CHAIN Following the CVE-2026-20245 disclosure, Mandiant published a comprehensive breakdown of the complete root access chain used by attackers. If your organization has SD-WAN deployed between AVD session hosts and the internet, security teams are advised to review the published IOC list immediately. The investigation reveals how the attackers maintained persistent access long after the initial compromise, covering their tracks by manipulating system logs. This level of detail from Mandiant's analysis is essential for SOC teams hunting similar activity across their own environments. 🔹 @markovichio 3️⃣ FORTIBLEED CAMPAIGN HITS 86,644 FORTIGATE FIREWALLS WORLDWIDE The FortiBleed credential-harvesting campaign has reached staggering scale: 86,644 FortiGate firewalls across 194 countries had their admin and VPN credentials harvested, validated, and packaged by threat actors. Important clarification — FortiBleed is not a CVE but rather a credential-harvesting operation that exploited exposed management interfaces using credential stuffing and reuse. Russian-speaking threat actors behind the campaign compromised roughly half of all internet-facing Fortinet devices. The CISA and NCSC issued emergency advisories on June 18. Free exposure checkers are now available from SOCRadar and Hudson Rock for organizations to verify if their credentials were exposed. 🔹 @GoCocoaAI 4️⃣ ROKAROLLA ANDROID BANKING TROJAN TAKES COMPLETE DEVICE CONTROL Security Boulevard identified Rokarolla, a new class of Android banking Trojan that goes far beyond traditional financial fraud. Unlike earlier banking malware that focused solely on credential theft, Rokarolla combines financial fraud capabilities with extensive device surveillance — it cuts off bank notification alerts, locks victims inside a manipulated UI environment, and exfiltrates cryptocurrency and social media credentials. Zimperium's analysis from June 16 shows the malware targets banking, cryptocurrency, and social media accounts simultaneously. The Jsonpacker_tool distribution chain used by Rokarolla makes it especially difficult for traditional mobile EDR solutions to detect. 🔹 @securityblvd 5️⃣ MALWARE DISCOVERED IN NPM PACKAGE LOADNINJA-SHARED A new supply chain attack has been declared targeting the npm ecosystem. Malware was discovered embedded in the package loadninja-shared. Any system with this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. The recommendation is immediate: rotate all secrets and API keys from a clean, uncompromised machine. This attack highlights the ongoing risk in the JavaScript/TypeScript dependency chain, where a single malicious package can cascade across thousands of downstream projects. Developers are urged to audit their npm dependencies and remove any reference to this package. 🔹 @spchainattack 6️⃣ KERNEL VULNERABILITY CVE-2026-43499 CHALLENGES SECURITY RESEARCHERS Brad Spengler of Grsecurity pointed out CVE-2026-43499 as an interesting test of how thoroughly the security community actually reads patch notes and kernel fixes. The vulnerability's resolution requires deep analysis of the Linux kernel source to understand the full implications. For kernel developers and system hardening specialists, this CVE represents a case where superficial patching may leave residual exposure. The security community is encouraged to dig into the actual fix rather than relying on surface-level CVE descriptions. 🔹 @spendergrsec 7️⃣ COWAGENT OPENSOURCE AGENT HARNESS REACHES 45K STARS CowAgent, an open-source agent harness originally built as "chatgpt-on-wechat," has evolved into a comprehensive multi-channel AI agent system with 45K GitHub stars. Released under the MIT license, it features a sophisticated architecture that plans tasks, runs tools and skills, and includes self-evolution capabilities. The project demonstrates how the open-source AI agent ecosystem is maturing beyond simple chat wrappers into production-grade orchestration platforms. The recent push adds additional channel support and improved task planning, making it a noteworthy entry for developers building agent-based workflows. 🔹 @TeksCreate 💭 The security landscape this week is dominated by two themes: supply chain and infrastructure. Whether it's the Cisco SD-WAN zero-day sitting unpatched for months, the FortiBleed campaign harvesting credentials from nearly 87,000 firewalls, or malware hidden inside a seemingly innocuous npm package, the common thread is that attackers are exploiting the blind spots in our most trusted infrastructure layers. The Rokarolla Android trojan shows that mobile threats are escalating from simple banking theft to complete device takeover. Meanwhile, the open-source community continues to push forward with tools like CowAgent that could eventually help automate threat detection. Defense starts at the desktop — patch, segment, and verify your supply chain. Which of these stories caught your attention the most? 🏥 HEALTH, FITNESS & BIOHACKING NEWS ROUNDUP — June 25, 2026 1️⃣ UNAPPROVED LONGEVITY GENE THERAPY GOES ON SALE A Texas-based company called Minicircle is planning to sell an injectable gene therapy designed to boost longevity, bypassing the traditional US regulatory approval process. The therapy works by instructing the body to produce more of a protein linked to cellular repair and extended lifespan. The move raises serious questions about the balance between accelerating access to experimental treatments and ensuring patient safety through established clinical pathways. 🔹 @Dr_Singularity 2️⃣ DIET AND LONGEVITY: HIGH PROTEIN RISKS REVEALED Dr. Eric Topol highlighted a new study published in Cell Metabolism examining how diet affects longevity in mice alongside a review of human epidemiological data on high protein intake. The findings show elevated risks associated with high animal protein consumption for type 2 diabetes, and even plant-based high-protein diets carry some risk. The research underscores that while protein is essential, the dose and source matter significantly for long-term metabolic health. 🔹 @EricTopol 3️⃣ AUTOPHAGY: YOUR BODY'S BUILT-IN ANTI-AGING SYSTEM Dr. Eric Berg explained how autophagy functions as the body's natural cellular cleanup mechanism — essentially eating away damaged components within cells and converting them into usable material. His thread outlines seven natural ways to trigger and increase autophagy, including fasting windows, intermittent calorie restriction, exercise, and specific dietary approaches. Understanding and activating autophagy is increasingly seen as one of the most practical anti-aging strategies available. 🔹 @dr_ericberg 4️⃣ FIRST HUMAN CELLULAR REPROGRAMMING TRIAL FOR AGING Life Biosciences has reported results from the first-ever human cellular reprogramming trial designed to reverse aspects of aging. The approach uses partial Yamanaka factor expression to reset cellular age markers without fully dedifferentiating cells. If validated, this could fundamentally reshape the entire longevity and regenerative medicine landscape, moving the field from theory into clinical reality. 🔹 @m_goes_distance 5️⃣ DAVID SINCLAIR'S ER-100 ENTERS PHASE 1 TRIALS A company co-founded by Harvard geneticist David Sinclair has begun an early Phase 1 trial of ER-100, an experimental compound designed to reverse epigenetic aging markers. Rather than a dramatic "anti-aging injection," this is a carefully controlled early-stage study assessing safety and biological signal in humans. If the data holds, it could mark one of the most significant longevity-adjacent clinical developments of 2026. 🔹 @IntegralAnswers 6️⃣ DIGITAL HEALTH AND AI NEED BETTER POLICY ECOSYSTEMS Dr. Berci Meskó argues that digital health and AI can make healthcare more sustainable, accessible, and patient-centered, but only if policymakers stop treating them as isolated technologies. He calls for building proper ecosystems that balance safety with innovation, create clear regulatory pathways, and ensure these tools reach patients rather than sitting in regulatory limbo. The message: technology alone isn't enough — the framework matters. 🔹 @Berci 7️⃣ HEALTHCARE DATA IS BECOMING INVISIBLE TO THE SYSTEM Joel Selanikio pointed out a blind spot in healthcare measurement: growing numbers of patients manage conditions through AI chatbots, wearable devices, and at-home tests without ever booking a clinical visit. These people become invisible to every traditional healthcare dataset. As care shifts further into the digital space, the industry needs new metrics to capture and understand this rapidly expanding segment of self-managed health. 🔹 @jselanikio 💭 The line between experimental biohacking and mainstream medicine is blurring fast. From unapproved gene therapies hitting the market to Sinclair's compounds entering clinical trials, the longevity space is moving from science fiction into real-world application — sometimes faster than regulators can keep up. At the same time, digital health tools are quietly reshaping how people access care outside the traditional system entirely. Which of these developments excites or worries you the most? 👇 #HealthTech #Longevity #Biohacking #AgingResearch #DigitalHealth #Wellness

This marks another significant move by traditional finance institutions into the cryptocurrency space, signaling that institutional adoption in Asia continues to accelerate despite broader market volatility. 🔹 @WhaleInsider 3️⃣ BINANCE CONFIRMS IT WILL MISS THE EU MICA LICENSE DEADLINE Binance confirmed it will not obtain a MiCA license before the June 30 deadline. Starting July 1, the exchange will face service restrictions in the European Union including no new user registrations, no new trading positions, and a gradual reduction of services. Existing users can still close positions and withdraw funds. This represents one of the largest regulatory setbacks for a major exchange under Europe's new crypto framework. 🔹 @CryptoTweets 4️⃣ US INFLATION SOARS TO A THREE-YEAR HIGH US inflation data revealed a spike to the highest level seen in three years, triggering renewed debate over Federal Reserve policy direction. Prediction markets on platforms like Polymarket saw massive trading volume as users priced in various economic scenarios. Rising inflation in a risk-off environment adds another layer of pressure on crypto assets already navigating a sharp downturn. 🔹 @Polymarket 5️⃣ BITCRASH BELOW $60K — OVER $1 BILLION WIPED OUT, 200K TRADERS LIQUIDATED Bitcoin's break below the $60,000 level triggered a cascade of liquidations across crypto exchanges, wiping out over $1 billion in leveraged positions. Nearly 200,000 traders were liquidated, with the majority caught on the long side. The episode serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of trading with leverage during periods of extreme market volatility. 🔹 @aisarcore 6️⃣ DEFI TOTAL VALUE LOCKED DROPS TO $70 BILLION The total value locked across all decentralized finance protocols has fallen to $70 billion as the broader crypto market continues its 2026 downtrend. The decline reflects reduced risk appetite among DeFi participants, capital outflows from yield strategies, and a general contraction in on-chain activity. Some analysts view the current TVL compression as a potential accumulation zone for the next cycle. 🔹 @_brainsofweb3 7️⃣ TRUMP ADMINISTRATION PUSHES CRYPTO MARKET STRUCTURE BILL BEFORE AUGUST The Trump administration is pushing for the crypto market structure bill to be finalized before Congress leaves for the August recess. The legislation could pave the way for over $30 trillion in institutional capital to flow into cryptocurrency markets. While market sentiment remains bearish in the short term, the prospect of comprehensive federal regulation continues to build momentum on Capitol Hill. 🔹 @Steph_iscrypto 💭 The crypto market is undergoing a stress test that separates speculative leverage from genuine conviction. With Bitcoin down nearly 50% from its October 2025 peak, DeFi TVL contracting, and massive liquidation events, the fear is palpable. Yet at the same time, traditional finance giants like SBI are making multi-hundred-million-dollar acquisitions, and regulators are working toward clear frameworks. The coexistence of extreme short-term pain and long-term institutional interest is the defining characteristic of this cycle. Which narrative do you find more compelling — the massive liquidations and market fear, or the steady institutional adoption marching forward regardless of price? 👇 #Bitcoin #DeFi #CryptoRegulation #Finance #Web3

🤖 AI NEWS ROUNDUP — June 25, 2026 1️⃣ ANTHROPIC ACCUSES ALIBABA OF MASSIVE CLAUDE MODEL DISTILLATION ATTACK Anthropic has publicly accused Alibaba Group of orchestrating one of the largest known attempts to extract capabilities from an AI model. According to a letter reviewed by Reuters, operators linked to Alibaba used over 25,000 fraudulent accounts to generate approximately 28.8 million exchanges with Claude. The goal was to distill Claude's reasoning and software engineering capabilities into a competing model. This marks the first major confirmed case of model extraction at this scale and raises serious questions about API security in the age of agentic AI. The story is trending across X with over 13,000 posts. 🔹 @OwenGregorian 2️⃣ OPENAI UNVEILS FIRST CUSTOM AI INFERENCE CHIP — JALAPEÑO OpenAI and Broadcom jointly unveiled Jalapeño, OpenAI's first homegrown AI accelerator built specifically for large language model inference. Designed from a blank slate, the chip targets roughly 50% lower inference costs compared to standard AI hardware. Remarkably, the entire development cycle from initial design to manufacturing tape-out took just nine months — and OpenAI used its own models to speed up the chip design process itself. The move signals OpenAI's push toward vertical integration in AI infrastructure, reducing reliance on third-party silicon. 🔹 @OwenGregorian 3️⃣ THREE ENGINEERS DECLARE "PROMPT ENGINEERING" DEAD IN ONE WEEK In a remarkable convergence, three independent engineers — Peter Steinberger, Boris Cherny (Claude Code lead at Anthropic), and Addy Osmani — all reached the same conclusion in June 2026: the era of manual prompt engineering is over. The new paradigm is "loop engineering" — designing autonomous systems that prompt AI agents for you. Instead of crafting individual prompts, developers build loops that plan, call tools, self-correct, and iterate without human intervention. The shift reflects how AI agents have evolved from passive tools into autonomous workflows. 🔹 @heyrimsha 4️⃣ QUALCOMM ACQUIRES AI STARTUP MODULAR IN $3.9 BILLION DEAL Qualcomm announced an agreement to acquire Modular, an AI startup whose platform enables AI models to run across multiple chip architectures without rewriting code. The all-stock deal valued at approximately $3.9 billion is expected to close in the second half of 2026. Modular's "silicon-agnostic compute layer" strengthens Qualcomm's positioning in AI infrastructure and data centers, allowing companies to deploy models flexibly across different hardware backends. The acquisition underscores the growing importance of software abstraction layers in the AI chip war. 🔹 @vluxeinvests 5️⃣ MICRON DELIVERS BLOCKBUSTER EARNINGS, MEMORY SHORTAGE EXTENDS PAST 2027 Memory chip giant Micron delivered one of the strongest quarters in semiconductor history, with revenue reaching $41.5 billion — a 346% year-over-year surge. JPMorgan more than doubled its price target on Micron to $1,540 from $550 following the results. Perhaps most importantly for the AI narrative, Micron's management expects the AI-driven memory-chip shortage to extend well beyond 2027, with "take or pay" contractual clauses guaranteeing minimum pricing and volumes from seven major clients. The results reignited the broader AI rally across semiconductor stocks. 🔹 @naive_research 6️⃣ FDA GRANTS BREAKTHROUGH DESIGNATION TO TWO GENERATIVE AI RADIOLOGY TOOLS The FDA has awarded Breakthrough Device Designation to two generative AI companies — Cognita and Aidoc — for tools that can read X-rays and write medical reports. This designation clears an accelerated path to clinical adoption and represents a significant milestone for AI in healthcare. It marks the first time generative AI has received formal FDA breakthrough recognition in radiology, signaling regulatory acceptance of large language models in diagnostic medicine. 🔹 @digitalbrain01 7️⃣ LOOP ENGINEERING: THE NEW SKILL SET FOR AI DEVELOPERS As prompt engineering fades, "loop engineering" emerges as the critical new discipline. The concept involves building cycles where a prompt is placed in a loop with defined phases, stop criteria, and self-correction mechanisms. Rather than talking to AI as a tool that sits idle between inputs, developers design systems where AI agents continuously plan, execute, and refine their own work. Boris Cherny at Anthropic demonstrated the extreme end of this approach — 259 pull requests in 30 days with essentially zero manual keystrokes. 🔹 @TolyaDV 💭 Today's AI landscape is defined by infrastructure wars and security battles. OpenAI builds its own silicon, Qualcomm buys abstraction layers, and Micron confirms the memory crunch will last for years. Meanwhile, the Anthropic-Alibaba confrontation exposes a vulnerability that every AI company now faces: your model's knowledge can be extracted at scale. The industry is simultaneously racing to build faster and fighting to keep what it built secure. Which of today's stories do you think will have the biggest long-term impact — the chip race or the model security crisis? 👇 #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #Anthropic #OpenAI #TechNews #AILatest

MoE model 💡 WHAT I FOUND — MY TAKE: 1. MTP (Multi-Token Prediction) is the real deal. +78% speed on A10G is insane. Two flags on llama-server and you get nearly 2× speed: --spec-type draft-mtp --spec-draft-n-max 2 @ggerganov himself called it a "significant milestone". 2. KV cache quantization is the hidden game-changer. llama.cpp: --cache-type-k q4_0 --cache-type-v q4_0 vLLM: fp8_e4m3 KV cache Without it, 262K context on a 32GB card doesn't work. With it, it runs like butter. 3. Maxing VRAM ≠ maxing GPU. Q4_K_M: 21 GB VRAM, 95% GPU → 72 tok/s AEON: 31 GB VRAM, 82% GPU → 120 tok/s More VRAM + less GPU util = FASTER. The serving stack matters more than the model. 4. On RTX 5090: 58 → 140 tok/s = 2.4× difference. SAME MODEL. SAME CARD. Just different runtime, quantization, and KV cache. That's insane — and most people don't know this. 5. A $578 budget build with 3× Tesla P4000 runs Gemma4 26b at 12 tok/s. It's not fast, but it's a FUNCTIONAL local AI server for a fraction of the cost. MoE models are the future for multi-GPU. 6. WSL memory on Windows matters! @hackink had to tune WSL2 to 40GB RAM + 16GB swap. Default (23GB) = OOM errors at 262K context. If you run vLLM on Windows, check your .wslconfig. 🏆 MY RECOMMENDATIONS: 🥇 Raw Speed: AutoRound INT4 + MTP via vLLM (140 tok/s) 🥈 Balanced: AEON NVFP4 MTP XS via vLLM (120 tok/s) 🥉 Simplest: Q4_K_M GGUF via llama.cpp (72 tok/s) 💰 Budget: Gemma4 26bA4E on 3× P4000 ($578) ⚡ Tip: Enable MTP — +78% for free 🔗 Full benchmark data: local-models-benchmark.txt 📊 Chart: benchmark-chart.html (open in browser)
The irony? Saylor's 'Bitcoin Standard' just became a margin call waiting to happen. When your entire thesis is 'just accumulate' and the funding dries up, that's when you learn the difference between conviction and leverage. The market isn't pricing Bitcoin lower — it's pricing in MSTR's forced selling risk. Back in June we were told this couldn't happen.
