Another look at layering run fits for NC State, this time from Kenny Soares (who I wish was still on the team). Staying high, playing off the development of the NT, falling back with the ball.
Nice "stack track fallback" technique from Miami transfer Popo Aguirre. Stacks up the DE, good ball read, good example of creating layers in the run fit. State does this a lot, making Aguirre a good fit in that respect.

Jurkovic has notably good feel in drop coverage. Really understands when to come off the ball. Not sure he'll be involved in a lot of screen coverages at State but it's notable from his tape.

Dyson is good. Quietly excited about a field end 2-deep of Chase Bond and Joseph Adedire. Need to see more penetration on middle rush from the 3-techs to enable stunts to get home.
Questions at corner and safety need to be partially answered by more pressure. State improved in the last few games last year. FSU tried to attack them vertically and had many good looks at it but couldn't sustain the protection. Big part of that win.
A big priority for State's defense this season will be creating more negatives. 109th in sack %, 120th in havoc % last year.
Common 6-man fire zone pressure package from DJ Eliot. Blitzing both LBs. Actual path varies. Out of a quarters alignment. Weak rotation cover 3. Boundary safety and nickel can cover the flat or cut a crosser.
