With the help of grants and fundraisings available around the country to preserve our green spaces, the State now has no excuse not to maintain the park and keep it public!
Now that we have dismantled the Trump case and the role of philanthropy in our societies, if it’s really all that bad, does a better alternative exist?
Philanthropy’s effect on democracy & shaping public policy should not be ignored but scrutinised instead. The lack of transparency & accountability framework risks fuelling unaccounted for and unelected power of a few wealthy individuals controlling the public sphere. 💸⚖️(6/6)
While philanthropy does strengthen civil society and social welfare, the concentration of power of public resource allocation in a few select wealthy donors is becoming concerning. Donations may end up going to select issues that may not reflect the whole of society. 🚨 (5/6)
