It changes the federal childhood vaccine recommendations so that 7 of the previous 18 diseases covered, including Hep B, COVID, flu are no longer universally recommended for every child. It also tells states to reconsider their school vaccine requirements. Meanwhile, Newsom’s California still recommends Hep B on day one of life for every baby. Remember, there’s no law in any state requiring any child to get any vaccines - the shot mandates are tied to attending school and daycare. And most states provide functional exemptions like religious or personal belief. California, New York, Maine and Connecticut are the four states without functional exemptions. (Reminder - CA kids with IEP's cannot be denied their services and do not need an exemption).
