. @UndermindAI is awesome. Definitely the most useful - show papers about this topic I'm interested in - tool. It's a bit search, a bit 'agentic', a bit RAG. 100% worth a try. Not affiliated at all, just a fanboy.
Finding relevant papers for literature review takes a lot of time.
So, MIT researchers built Undermind, an AI-powered search engine.
It can generate well-researched overviews on any topic and is 10-50 times better than Google Scholar.

I agree. @UndermindAI relevancy ranking is a clear step above anything I tried so far, at least for now. That's why we got subscriptions for our library. Very strong positive feedback from faculty, Research staff, phds. Not gold standard SR level (based on my test) but very good
Shout-out to @UndermindAI, the best lit search AI I've tried. We have our own internal 'search our paper library' stuff but for finding new+relevant papers on something specific undermind is sooo good that I've completely lost interest in making a competitor 😂

This tool is hands down the MOST powerful AI literature search engine (developed by MIT grads)
It retrieved 70% of the studies I included in my systematic review (+1 new study I had missed)
All by just entering my review question!

You can ask questions of up to 1000 characters in a single query.
And it helps you get super specific with your input
⤴ so it can give you super relevant output

Thrilled to invest in @UndermindAI YC S24, a search engine that can handle extremely complex questions for experts like research scientists & doctors.
Many YC bio-founders are paying subscribers—and investors!
Backed by @Ycombinator & @Pioneer_fund.
If you're a researcher and want to try it out, let me know!
Impressed with the @UndermindAI "research engine". Both the prompt refining and results have been excellent for the few topics I've tried.
@levelsio had a viral tweet yesterday about why SQLite can't automatically add indexes. Undermine gave a complete update on the latest research related to that problem in under 5 minutes.
🚀 @UndermindAI launched! Elevate your research with a radically thorough AI research assistant 🔎

📚 Started by two quantum physics PhDs from MIT, with decades of experience in deep research, it's like "Google for scientific research"
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝? ⤵
❌ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦: 50 million researchers searching for scientific literature on PubMed and Google Scholar every month, and these tools are insufficient for complex research queries, often requiring hours to sift through mostly irrelevant results.
✅ 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Undermind has rebuilt search from the ground up, mimicking how a human researcher carefully discovers information. Their AI agent adapts based on what it finds, providing results that are 10-50x better than traditional keyword search engines.
🧠 𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝: Undermind's AI research assistant finds exactly what you need, no matter how complex. It carefully reads through hundreds of papers for you, identifying the very best resources, driving crucial insights.
⏱ 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐮𝐧𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Radically better research, radically faster. ⚡
⚙️ 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭 👉 Just write down your complex research topic, describing exactly what you want, as if to a colleague. After 2-3 minutes, Undermind will give you the precisely relevant articles you need.
🎯 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐬: Geared toward experts like research scientists and doctors, who need to find very specific resources to solve high-stakes problems. The Undermind team aims to expand their technology into law, consulting, and other areas requiring focused research solutions.

6/ Undermind - A search engine for complex questions
We don't always need instant answers to every question. What matters is getting well-researched answers, even if it takes time. That's their thing - their product dives deep into tough questions and hands you the answers 🚀.
It's like a perplexity but for complex research questions! 🤓💡

Elicit is "working on" SPLADE! Coincidentally my last blog post was trying to understand SPLADE. Also mention of "Automated Comprehensive Search (ACS)" by @UndermindAI something I also have blogged about. Both promising techniques (can be combined) for improving academic search
We're continually working to put new search technologies to work for you.
Our infrastructure engineer @VivaLaPanda_ walks through many of the traditional and machine learning approaches to semantic search in our latest blog post: blog.elicit.com/semantic-searc…
I asked @UndermindAI a really complex research question, On information related to human capital and its importance in universities, the results are very relevant, it serves as a starting point for me to understand a topic in greater depth. undermind.ai/query_app/disp…
