You don’t need to know it’s going to work to start, you just need to know it’s going to work better than doing nothing.
Learn to imagine more possibilities than you generally consider. Avoid fixating only on what is present. Ponder what is absent.
Don’t punish your best people for what your worst people did.
Stay the course. Keep showing up! You can’t be the person who refuses to quit.
Every man needs something in his life that nobody can take away: skills, knowledge, discipline, and self-respect.
I didn’t survive cancer, homelessness, and more surgeries than I care to count just to keep what those experiences taught me to myself. Some of the places life planted me were brutal. If anything good grew there, I want someone else to have the fruit. Maybe it’ll help them through a place I once thought I’d never get out of.
Protect your reputation for keeping your word. Money can return. Trust is much harder to rebuild.
Never underestimate good health. Most men only understand its value when everyday things suddenly become difficult.
Resilience isn't the absence of a reaction. It's the speed of the recovery.
Some client updates hit differently. A book I helped ghostwrite and edit has been on the bestseller list for weeks. Scott is one of the most open, honest people I’ve met. We cried, laughed, and shared stories of depression. Reminder: No matter what you’re facing, you are worth fighting for!
If you’re unsure whether someone is worth your time and energy, ask yourself these questions: Do I like who I am when I'm around them? Do they challenge me in ways that elevate me or in ways that confuse and derail me? Most importantly, does my behavior around them move me closer to or further from my values?
