While I’m personally fine with GTA being $100, this is a silly comparison. Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition came with post launch DLC expansions. Same with Star Wars Outlaws. GTA comes with a few stores and effectively skins. GTA is a $100 game where those were $60-$70 games plus post launch DLC. That’s totally fine but we really shouldn’t compare the two

People out here legit losing their minds over GTA VI having a $100 Ultimate Edition. Its been this way, for years. GTA VI is one of the cheapest special editions I have seen.

Honestly I think $100 for GTA6 would’ve been better for the industry. At $80 there will be imitators, at $100 no one would follow suit

I really think it’s a mistake to view this as an $80 game with a $20 surcharge for extra content. It’s a $100 game and that’s totally reasonable compared to the stuff we get charged $70 for

$100 for what will probably be a generational game is totally reasonable. It thought the $80 cheap version was clever but the way people are complaining anyway they should have just done the $100 version

They clearly just wanted to charge $100 for this but were terrified of the backlash. There's no other explanation for paywalling story content and shops throughout the in-game world otherwise. It's a $100 game with an $80 'mostly-complete access' variant.

Ehh Kind of, I think the player motivations in different game modes matter. The goal of sponsored is to level the playing field at the start of the match, but it's still to extract with loot. Which to be clear I like and is fun. I just think a 5v5 arena mode could exist along side it and be a fun way to practice gunplay and let loose a bit. Agreed on the maps being too small for a battle royale proper it would have to be something unique and small which could still be fun but 10 player solo BR would be a little weird for most people.

There’s a ton of opinions about what Marathon currently is and should be. I love the game as it is even tho I consider myself a Marathon Casual. But I can’t shake the feeling it needs more diversity in gameplay. I wish that was a 5-10 hour campaign in the amazing art style but I don’t think that’s realistic. But atleast some squad based PvP modes, a battle royal mode on the amazing maps they built, just something so that every time I boot the game it doesn’t have to be the same kinda stressful game mode. Extraction shooters are like battle Royale in many regards so just imagine dropping into perimeter with 20-30 players with static base loadouts and looting around the map fresh each game. No pressure to lose anything, just enjoying a match. I know they have said they are adding things for future seasons so some of this is useless but just my two sense about where the game should go. I wish this stuff was there at launch but not at the expense of delaying the game or anything so I’m at peace for now

I like Marathon as an extraction shooter. I like Halo PvP, but also forge and firefight and campaign, they are different and all fun. I’d like Marathon to have some arena shooter modes so I can enjoy the art style and gun play outside of the extraction shooter sometimes. I don’t think I’m alone in desiring other game modes

Hot take: if you spend 8+ years and atleast a billion dollars making the biggest most anticipated game ever… you can charge $80 that’s fine
