Almost every state has some combination of term limits (even if judges can run for reelection) and/or mandatory retirement ages for judges on their highest court. Is there evidence that this has led to increased politicization in those courts?

3. Term limits will politicize the court. Nominees will come off the campaign trail and put on their robes. Justices will wait out a colleague about to end their term if the next Justice would agree.
