So there's a new scam going around in the job market right now. One of my friends just got hit. Recruiter asked him to clone a Git repo and complete an assignment (they were impersonating a big tech company, *tlab). He installed the packages, ran the code, and they straight up cracked his system. Credentials got stolen and some of his account passwords were changed. Still don’t fully understand how this bypassed the browser sandbox though; the code was fetching JS from a different remote and executing it at runtime. Do we need to wipe/clean his Mac?
