@fksyo0501 @KenIkebe18217 1. Hi Mongolian here. Apparently making was practiced in Mongolia though not as big as China. Big problem writing on paper was long term survivability in the steppe without some kind of town, city or temples. Most of records were of lost until Buddhism was reintroduced

@Puzanthefish @kindesthalo We also had similar system in mongolia, though it became obsolete in early in 20th century. Those of chingisids(his brothers were kind of included) were considered white bone, everyone else even some non chingisid lords were considered black bone.

@SchneiderMjr @teortaxesTex Baron Ungern liberated mongolians from ROC occupation in 1921 then got crushed by joint red russian and mongolians later. He then got captured and executed. Bro was only one step in mongolias fight for independece since 1911.

@PlebeuOcioso @oreillyasia @teortaxesTex 3. Traditional script is taught frkm 6th grade to 12th grade. Also students has to take national exam with traditional script to graduate high school and to enroll in univesity.

@PlebeuOcioso @oreillyasia @teortaxesTex 1. That information is outdated. Mongolian government and officials has to use both cyrillic and traditional script in papers. While Inner mongolians still use traditional script because Mongolian writer Damdinsuren Tsend wrote letter to Mao Zedong to keep using the old script.

@ultraXZQYN @LegionnaireFr @mikitaposts 2. Successor khaganates of each sons were eventually got conquered by Qing dynasty from 17th to 18th century. Qing dynasty conquered mongols of south of Gobi desert in 1636, and mongols north of Gobi desert in 1691.

@ultraXZQYN @LegionnaireFr @mikitaposts 1. It has been divided since 16th century. In short, reigning khan who reunited most of mongols split the mongols in to two regions. One is north of Gobi desert was given to youngest son(married a princess of big noyan/lord) while South of Gobi desert was given to older sons.

@Hangbei_ILM Yeah, mongolians still strugle spelling words starts with r sound. So they compensate by adding vowel in front. Weirdly enough word "Рашаан/Rasiyan(in script)" which comes from sanskrit word written with r in front while still spelt with vowel in front.

@WeeklyUyghur @brainrotpostig 5. Why there is seemingly no support from the government to educate people on the clans, and ancestry. Big reason is many members in the parliament have partial han chinese ancestry. Only thing mongolians hate more than anything is mixed chinese mongolian.

@WeeklyUyghur @brainrotpostig 4. Now some average mongolian who knew their great grandpa and where they lived, can go to National archive to check if that person actually existed in population census conducted from 1915 to 2020,that way you can find your ancestors family and their ancestor.
