Vladimir Solovyov has called for facilities producing drones for Ukraine to be identified and “destroyed.” Let's be precise. This was NOT an announcement from Vladimir Putin or an official declaration that Russia intends to attack Britain. But neither should we simply shrug it off. Because rhetoric like this demonstrates just how dangerous the confrontation between NATO and Russia is becoming. Britain is helping arm Ukraine. Russia regards Western weapons production and military assistance as part of the war being waged against it. And now one of the most prominent voices on Russian state television is openly discussing strikes inside the United Kingdom. Think about what an actual Russian strike on British soil would mean. Britain is a nuclear-armed NATO member. An attack could trigger an escalation involving the entire alliance. And from there, the margin for miscalculation becomes terrifyingly small. This is precisely why I have repeatedly warned against treating escalation between nuclear powers like some geopolitical computer game. Wars have a habit of escaping the control of the people who start them. One missile. One miscalculation. One retaliation. And suddenly political leaders are making decisions from which there may be no return. The British people deserve a serious debate about where this is heading. Not sensationalism.
