Men who insist they have a legal right to be in our spaces even when we say “no” to them are really saying this: “Unless the law forces me to stop violating your rights, I will keep doing it” “Until the law actively steps in to make me listen to your clear “no”, that “no” means absolutely nothing to me” “It doesn’t matter how many hundreds, or thousands, of women say “no” to me because I am more important than all of them and I will do whatever I want” “Only potential consequences to me might stop me from overriding your wishes” It’s the mentality of very entitled men and it’s also the mentality of rapists

Black people, women, homosexuals and transexuals fought for equal treatment, without taking anything away from anyone else else. Transgender people fight to reformulate society’s conception of what makes a man a man and a woman a woman, FOR EVERYONE, to benefit the needs of 0.1% of the population and disbenefit everyone else, by: 1) reinforcing regressive gender stereotypes for everyone (most prominently seen in our heterosexual/non transgender young, who, according to teachers, are acting more gender stereotypical across the board) 2) insisting biological males are given full access to women’s single sex spaces, despite the very existence of those spaces being established due to their biological (not socially constructed) differences from men 3) dismantle sex based medical care for everyone; perpetuating the male bias in medical research and removing, for example, a woman’s right to request intimate personal care from another woman 4) usurp and arrogate the interests and views of Transexuals who acknowledge they are not literally members of the opposite sex, and lived a quiet life until recently 5) target the most vulnerable in society for grooming into Transgender ideation. Grooming is the only explanation for disproportionate numbers of sexual abuse survivors in the cohort of young transitioning. Due to their sexual abuse, they consider their sexed bodies a source of vulnerability. TRAs provide no safeguards whatsoever for weeding out these vulnerable people from your cult. No, you positively celebrate it! For this, and many other reasons, there is no equivalency with previous social justice movements. And suggesting that there is is a deep insult.

These are the types of men who, alongside their lesbian and bisexual counterparts, put their very lives on the line to ensure that what you now disgustingly refer to as "queer people" could one day live freely. You owe them your lives. Yet, here you are, telling them that they are nothing without you. Be ashamed.

"Luke from Manchester" is super-proud to have lectured a female colleague on her TERFy phone cover. It is not a work phone. Luke works for the Ministry of Justice. Luke thinks this makes him judge, jury, and executioner. Luke is also in breach of Civil Service rules. Don't be a Luke. Luke doesn't approve of the public sector drive to "bring your whole self to work". He will decide for you what your "self" is allowed to be and whether it is "worthy of respect". No self-determination for women in Luke's regime; that's just for the spicy straights and his bros. He also likes to lecture the XTwitterverse on how office environments work. Sadly, Luke has an overinflated view of his own talent in that area. The fact he knows the meaning of TERF, an arcane term to the average person, confirms his shamactivist credentials. Luke sounds very much like a junior line manager overstepping his supervisory boundaries by bullying and suppressing female staff for their protected beliefs in order to further his own social engineering beliefs. A little "power" always goes to the head of the weak and ineffectual. Luke should remind himself that "his" staff do not belong to him. His colleagues are responsible to the Perm Sec and Ministers; they work for the Crown. On that point, it's unfortunate that the slack jaw hints at Luke not being the sharpest crayon in the unicorn pencil case. Luke's bio tends to confirm this, as it mentions both his employer AND his anti-Tory bias. I don't like the Tories either but I'm not Luke. Civil Servants like Luke are required to serve the government of the day with impartiality and integrity. Personal political views must not be allowed to interfere. Luke gives every impression of allowing his personal opinions and prejudices to affect his behaviours in work. Luke might want to refresh himself on the four core CS values - integrity, honesty, objectivity, and impartiality - and learn what they actually mean. Does Luke also inspect the contents of "his" staff's lunch boxes for ham sandwiches?

Thread on today's protests. We couldn't hear any of it inside, the event went off without a hitch and the staff and police were excellent. Very professional and fully understood that this wasn't "both sides" but a threatening mob screaming abuse at human-rights campaigners

@SexMattersOrg in Manchester meeting. Women from the northwest have congregated to learn about womens rights in law. TRAs are here to protest and have tried to block entry to the whole library. They have neen moved out of the way by the fabulous @gmpolice

It's real as an idea. But I would argue new language might be needed at this point. I've studied psychology since the late 1970s and 'gender constancy' in children was often spoken about in literature as a part of social learning theory. For instance, theorists and practitioners would write about how it might fit into Piaget or Kohlberg's developmental stages. The basic idea is that children eventually learn through modeling and environmental cues that perception of 'gender' (roles, expression, etc.) remains constant regardless of hair style or preferred toys. It made sense to me back then to differentiate between our sexed bodies (SEX) and our perception of our roles in society (GENDER). What is clear to me now, is that the whole idea of 'gender' has become completely bastardized, and the ideology surrounding it, frankly dangerous - especially for women and children. It's not out of the question, imo, to begin to explore other language that can be used to address these concepts. The term SEX is not problematic in the same way, as it's still connected in *most* people's minds - and in the scientific literature as well - to the physical reality of our sexed bodies. I do think it's an interesting conversation to be had.

Child psychiatrist Dr. Jillian Spencer was removed from her clinical duties at the hospital where she was employed on the basis that she was a "danger" to "trans and gender diverse children", due to her history of questioning the gender clinic's "affirmation model". Children in Australia are being fast-tracked into forms of medicalization that ultimately lead to sterility and life-long dependency on exogenous hormones, regardless of their mental health history. "It's an absolute disaster ... I see this as a really serious child protection issue."

This poster about 10 menopause support events is on display in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals @SheffieldHosp staff toilets. There is not one mention of “women”. Men yes. Transgender yes. Non-binary yes. “Woman” …nowhere to be seen.
