Did a bit of digging into @eCash and there's actually more going on under the hood than I expected. eCash $XEC is essentially taking the Bitcoin model and asking: What if Proof-of-Work could keep its strengths, without payments having to inherit its slow finality? Their answer is Avalanche-enhanced Proof-of-Work, or APoW. Bitcoin-style Nakamoto PoW remains the foundation of the network, while eCash's Avalanche consensus layer works alongside it to provide faster finality and additional protection against chain reorganisations and 51% attacks. That gives eCash some interesting properties: • ~3 second transaction finality • 1-block finality • Avalanche-powered staking • PoW-based, trustless blockchain history • Very low-cost P2P payments And an important distinction, eCash's Avalanche implementation isn't the Avalanche $AVAX blockchain. It's an independent implementation of the Avalanche consensus protocol built into eCash. Pretty interesting approach to scaling the original idea of peer-to-peer electronic cash.
