@threemandajtl Thank you! 🧠 I’m trying to make the hidden logic behind these puzzles visible.
I could’ve put this behind a subscription. I didn’t. If learning the visual language behind IQ tests can help people understand how they think, I want as many people as possible experimenting with it. The entire IQ trainer is free, don't even have to sign up for an account: zotbot.ai/iq-training
@nikitabier Come back bruh X is not the same without you
Compression and reconstruction are NOT mutually exclusive. They’re interdependent. Compression: “What can I remove while preserving what matters?” Reconstruction: “Given what remains, what can I rebuild/regenerate?” If you can’t reconstruct it, you didn’t compress it well. You just deleted information.
1) Hardest to detect: Latent Memory Poisoning. Something can look safe when the AI saves it, then much later, something else happens and that old memory gets used in a bad way. The dangerous part is when that memory meets the right situation. 2) Hardest to defend against: Interdependence Cascades. -Agent A can work fine. -Agent B can work fine. -Agent C can work fine. But when they all affect each other, the whole system can still go wrong. 3) I actually think Compositional Fragment Traps are easier to solve than they look. You might have: -Part 1 = safe -Part 2 = safe -Part 3 = safe But when you put them together: 1 + 2 + 3 = attack The mistake is checking each part alone because the danger is in how the parts connect. Some of the hardest problems only appear between things.
Absolutely, and it’s honestly one of the ideas that has guided almost all of my research up to this point. Isolating subjects is useful. It’s how we learn the basics. But eventually, science has to stop treating things as if they exist alone and start studying the relationships between them. -Easy to think: A causes B. -Harder to think: A changes how B affects C, but only when D is present, because of what happened between E and F earlier. That’s where a lot of hidden information lives. Not inside the individual things, but in the relationships between them. I actually wrote a paper about this that I never published. I realized it revealed too much of the larger framework I am still building, and I wanted time to finish and publish the findings that followed from it first. The paper was about how science often studies reality through DYADS: one thing relating to another. -A → B (Dyad) But reality often operates through TRIADS: -A affects B differently because C is present (Triad) That third piece can completely change what the relationship between the first two means. And if you only study A and B, you may never even know the missing information exists.
There are scientific variables that literally cannot be determined from one isolated moment. Velocity already hints at this. So does acceleration, learning rate, mutation rate, entropy production, etc. Whole classes of important physical and cognitive variables only become visible through relationships among multiple states, which means some information simply isn’t contained in any single snapshot. It has no location inside either frame. It exists between snapshots, in the mapping between them.
That actually makes a lot of sense. Cataloguing what’s physically around you is basically forcing your attention back into the present instead of letting the threat system keep feeding old memories back into focus. If it works, it isn’t cringe at all. It’s a pretty smart way of telling your brain, “this is what matters right now.
1/11 Perfect memory is not intelligence. It’s the ability to drown yourself in every detail, every repetition, every useless copy of the same pattern, forever. Most people think unlimited recall would make them smarter. It wouldn’t. It would just make the search for what actually matters harder.
You may be able to tone it down by stopping the constant re-strengthening of everything you remember. Don’t mentally replay every detail, write down what actually matters so your brain doesn’t feel responsible for holding it all, deliberately redirect attention when useless memories surface, and give important things a few clear retrieval cues instead of rehearsing the whole event. If the memories are intrusive or genuinely disruptive, that’s worth talking through with a clinician potentially tho, because the problem may be less “too much memory” and more your brain assigning too much priority to certain memories.
My simplest placebo explanation and guide on how to activate it: 1) The brain recognizes a situation that usually leads to a specific effect, like less pain or less nausea. 2) It expects that same effect to happen again. 3) The brain starts turning on whatever systems your body already has that can help produce that effect. 4) That can create part of the expected result even when the treatment itself is fake. For example: The brain thinks: “Last time this happened, my pain went down.” So when the same kind of treatment situation happens again, it expects the pain to go down. Then the brain may start turning on its own pain-relief systems before the treatment itself has done anything. The placebo cue may basically work like a memory trigger. It tells the brain: “This is that situation again. Pain relief usually comes next.” So placebo may be less about believing a fake pill has special power and more about the brain recognizing a familiar pattern, predicting the specific effect that usually follows, and starting to help produce that effect itself. To get a strong placebo effect, three things seem especially important: 1) “This situation usually leads to relief.” 2) “I really expect that relief to happen.” 3) “My body already has a way to create some of that relief.” For pain, your body already has its own pain-relief systems, so the brain can start turning some of them on. But if your body has no way to create the expected effect itself, believing harder won’t magically make it happen. So the simplest version is: The brain recognizes the pattern > predicts the specific effect that usually follows > starts using its own systems to help produce that effect.
If visual IQ-style puzzles feel random, start with the smallest question: “What changed?” Train that skill here: zotbot.ai/iq-training

@NarrisBunnies Thank you, @NarrisBunnies ! 🙏 Really appreciate you taking the time to read through the whole thread. Means a lot.
@elonmusk I have been. Definitely competes now.
A simple mental model that cuts through so much complexity: If removing XYZ destroys 500 downstream relationships, XYZ is important. If removing XYZ changes basically nothing because everything routes around it, XYZ wasn't fundamental. Apply this to teams, tools, processes, vendors, even people. Clarity > complexity.
11/11 So maybe the best kind of memory works like this: Observation → connection → understanding → prediction → letting go You remember enough examples to see what connects them. Once you understand the relationship, you no longer need every example taking up equal space in your mind. Some details can fade because the connection still lets you understand, predict, or find them again. That means forgetting isn’t always memory failure. Sometimes it’s what happens after the important part has already been learned. The highest form of memory may be knowing what you understand well enough to stop memorizing.
10/11 Then selective forgetting becomes useful: the relationships (associations) between things become paths back to the information. Meaning, associations (relationships) can help you find something even after the exact detail slips away. >>>>And that may be one of the best ways to improve memory: don’t memorize facts by themselves. Connect them to causes, categories, sequences, places, people, or other facts. The more connections a memory has, the more ways your mind has to reach it again. So better memory may come from creating better connections, not trying to store more.<<<<
