@PhilCL2 @housewife8888 Last week a 15 year old girl died due to covid, within a week of becoming ill. She had been due to get her first vaccine shot on the day she died. On 1st October 127 people died in the UK due to covid.

The immune system then responds by producing antibodies The vaccine was given limited approval last year. It now has full approval. bmj.com/content/374/bm…

@housewife8888 I agree, the virus has killed 160,000+ in the UK so far. Another 100+ are dying from the effects of Covid every day... and yet some people are against being vaccinated. A vaccine that will reduce the chance of dying from the virus.

@DFBHarvard Daniel, do you know what the term means? Existential risks are "risks that threaten the destruction of humanity's long-term potential." The instantiation of an existential risk would cause outright human extinction or irreversibly lock in a drastically inferior state of affairs.

@HenryHRearden It seems a lot of people on this thread want to replace the NHS with a different system. Such as the one in the USA where health cover is for those that pay. If we spent as much per person as they do in the USA we would have a rolls royce health care system.
