When you say Ob/Gyns aren’t surgeons, you’re telling every woman who has had a C-section, hysterectomy, vaginal reconstruction, fibroid removal, endometriosis excision, ovarian cancer debulking that her surgery (and thus her diseases) are not real/important/painful/valid. STOP.

I will humbly call on my #pedsTwitter colleagues to PLEASE refer teenage girls with painful periods or “functional abdominal pain”to a pelvic pain specialist or #pediatricadolescentGYN early and often. Take them seriously. Ask about abuse. You will change their entire future! 🌈

Sometimes I think about the time my medical school tried to pull me off rotations because a preceptor hadn’t turned in an eval for me after 3 months and also how they did nothing to help after I didn’t match and lol fuck them, osteopathic medical education needs to change

What I’ve learned so far during residency is I can stand next to a FOB during a delivery for over an hour and after he tests + for covid the next day be considered “low risk for infection, safe to work” but I can’t go see my family at all unless I want to lose 14 vacation days🙃
