Five years ago I asked this question in Parliament about White Working Class boys. One of many questions, debates, articles and other pressure I tried to apply to the government to end the discrimination - and it is discrimination, even if some call it 'positive action' - against white working class lads from estates like many across Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands, who are proven to have lower life chances than everyone else. If the #EqualityAct were fit for purpose or used properly, you'd see support for these boys to improve educational attainment, to help them access qualifications or jobs, and to improve their visibility across all sorts of areas of public life where they are massively under-represented. But you don't see any of that. Instead they're faced with job adverts that make clear only 'BAME' people should apply, scholarships and support for every other group in society to get in to good schools and universities, and even jobs where they might historically have been prime candidates - like the Police or the Forces - overtaken by #DEI nonsense and pushing them away. I've been raising this since I was first elected to Parliament back in 2017 and spent years fighting this fight. The government was never interested. I even noted in a Westminster Hall debate that the so-called Conservative government wouldn't even recognise this issue when they spoke. It wasn't in their vocabulary. They were quite happy to promote support for women and girls, for ethnic minorities and others, but when it came to helping white boys the language always changed to 'support for everyone, regardless of skin colour etc. Never just 'we need to help these boys'. Didn't fit with the 'popular' narrative. Lord knows the current Labour government is even worse! That's why I'm so thankful that finally a Party Leader is really recognising this and calling it out. @Nigel_Farage and @reformparty_uk have always been prepared to cut against the 'politically acceptable' narrative and say what needs saying. I felt like a lone voice on this five years ago, but now it's front and centre of the debate about the future of our country. That's why I know that Reform UK is the right place for me, and Nigel is the right man to lead our country. He will do what is right and what is fair.
