@hankgreen Both fail creators long-term though, the ad revenue eventually fails to cover production costs, while subscription models suffer similar issues, stagnation of income over the long-term due to gradual decline in audiences due to pay-walled content and lack of mainstream exposure

@hankgreen Marketing within a paywall is very difficult for any smaller production, and even has its limits for larger companies (look what happened to Rooster Teeth eventually) A closed payed system doesn't work any better than an open, ad-supported platform.
