@scottiebateman I flew to Doha on a Qatar A380. It was a bit worn as it had been in storage but the flight was v. good, not least due to the stand up bar. Perhaps v. large planes have a future carrying outsize cargo & for the military. I think USAF considered A380s to replace the C5 Galaxy

@ediz1975 Rule 170 requires you to give way to pedestrians already crossing a road that you are turning into when you're at a junction. Isn't mandatory if they haven't started crossing & doesn't apply at all at roundabouts. And here was I, thinking you could run people over at junctions.

@ry4nBuSiCLaSs @scottiebateman Nope. If you'd served, you'd know that the training covers the difference between legal & illegal orders. Murder definitely falls into the latter category & service personnel are obliged to refuse such orders. Google the Nuremberg Defence for further details.

@ATaylorFPGA @scottiebateman UK forces are much smaller than the US, especially since the end of the Cold War. This limits career options and progression. I read about a man who joined the Royal Navy but left after 7 years as he'd never been to sea. Unsurprising as we're down to a handful of working ships.

@scottiebateman Bad press, glacial career progression, budget cuts, dire accommodation & limited officer promotion beyond (Flt) Lt/army Captain. It's unfortunate because you can realise your full potential. In my day, 1 in 4 officers joined as ratings & for engineering officers it was 1 in 3.

@melindiscott Nothing except a couple of bits of wire and a little pointy bit of plastic that scraped the coating off the glass to draw lines. Very disappointed after reading stuff like this.
