This load of shit masquerading as analysis is so funny 😭. It does a fine job until this part, because Cocainerants apparently can’t have a genuine conversation about this topic. It pretends to be a roster-construction analysis while actually working backward from the conclusion that the Fudd pick was bad. Most glaringly, the writing is so simplistic that it can’t get out of its own way enough to disguise the confirmation bias and circular reasoning: it selectively presents everything that validates the conclusion while never seriously engaging with the strongest counterargument that Azzi has been the better fit alongside Paige. It assumes the pick was wrong, points to the outcome as evidence that it was wrong, and then uses the same outcome to validate the original assumption. Everyone with two working brain cells and a little bit of intellectual honesty can point to the issue around the roster being not committing to back to back No. 1 picks backcourt and surrounding them with unplayable bench & role players who cannot contribute and thus have to play less than 10 minutes for the team to have a fighting chance. They have saddled both of them with deadweight but he wants to get off his obsessive bullshit. There’s certainly a place for amateur journalism in this league, but I expect a little more sophistication than this…at the very least a little intellectual honesty.
