I worked on Siri at Apple and couldn't reliably use it. My stutter eases when I whisper, so I wanted a microphone that could hear me at that amplitude, no matter where I was. That's what sparked VOX. This isn't just for the 1% of us who stutter. It's for MouthPad users living with weak voices, and for anyone who wants privacy when they talk to their computer. We're convinced that speech is a key part of the future of human-computer interaction, but today it only really works in a quiet room, with nobody around. So we rebuilt the keyboard around a stethoscope: VOX picks up your voice through your body, rather than the air in the room, so a whisper still gets through when everything around you is loud. Private, robust, always available. I'm a big believer in agentic workflows, but my fear with more and more agents is that we become slaves to the screen. My hope is that, through well-designed interfaces, we untether ourselves from the desk and reclaim an hour under the sun. Beyond feeling comfortable using voice AI in public, and actually being able to use it, it's changed how I work. Over the past few months I've gone from under 8K steps a day to 15K+ on average, since I can now work on the go even when it's noisy around me. Universal design is the key to effective human-machine interfaces. Designing for the most constrained is how you make something better for everyone.

@allTheYud @repligate imagine an LLM's output was computed via paper/pencil. would you still count it as conscious? you're picking an arbitrary frame and calling it conscious. imagine if for each computation, a mistake was made, erased, and corrected. you could make this arbitrarily complicated /

We're coming out of stealth. We've built our first racks after a successful A0 tapeout, $1B+ in customer contracts, and $800m raised. Early customer tests show us achieving SOTA throughput, latency, and power efficiency on inference workloads. Our first racks ship this summer.

bringing this back because a strange signal keeps showing up in my personal life. people around frontier labs have started bringing up Jewish texts in the context of AGI/ASI. at parties, multiple frontier lab employees, most of them non-Jewish, have brought up Torah / Talmud / halakhic literature as a possible lens for civilization-scale alignment. most recently, someone at Anthropic told me several of his colleagues were most interested in studying Torah after AGI. separately, I’ve heard several versions of the argument that Jewish textual tradition might be relevant to alignment because it is one of the longest-running systems we have for value transmission, adversarial interpretation, precedent, constraint, and survival under regime change, which makes intuitive sense. halakha is, among other things, a centuries-long technology for turning values into precedent, preserving arguments instead of erasing them, and thoroughly stress-testing norms against bizarre edge cases. on a date a few months back, a different Anthropic researcher told me there’s lore that Ilya Sutskever aspired to be a rabbi growing up, which makes perfect sense when you think about it. now, I know people might just be clocking me as Jewish and giving me the matching conversational response, but the pattern is interesting enough that I’m tracking it. I went to private Jewish high school in new york, and truly never thought I’d see the day when frontier lab researchers started rediscovering halakhic reasoning as alignment tech. welcome to 2026, I guess!
