@EracuStudios Games are just dying in the dark. You're not competing with other new releases directly, you're mostly trying to convince an algorithm to open a tiny window a little further, no-one knows how to repeatedly drive solid traffic to the store, this is why hits are mostly random.

@Chavenham Multiplayer games are a risk as you need many players from the word go constantly engaging with your game. Because of this, an indie scale MMO would be a risk for a publisher as servers are very expensive to keep running, even with dynamic scaling.

@exQUIZitely Yes, the games are special, but they were made by people, not gods. 🙂 also, keep in mind that I started making games as a teenager myself (14) so we likely share a lot of the same feelings about the home micros.

@exQUIZitely It's really not as big a deal as you think. :) Game developers are all just people - yes, games are cool, but developers are just hard working people who get on with things. I'm a little more active on Social Media than most, but there are tons of 8/16bit dev's out there.

@E2aGames It's the interface design of digital stores. Ultimately, the one place we know people who want to buy games are collectively going is the stores themselves, so the only answer that's going to work is going to come from improvements there.

@exQUIZitely @CoffeeJezus I was taught to program in BASIC and to a small degree Assembly in school (at 13), I then taught myself Assembly fully on the VIC-20 and started making games at 14 on the C64.
